She is also very vocal about Afro-centric studies and takes pride in her heritage, which instilled in her daughter. She also has a spirit of steel and will not back down if she feels there wrongs that need to be undone.

Background: Originally from Oakland she lived with her mother and grew up in poverty, while her father left her and her mother when she was four years old. She worked hard in school and was very Afro-centric. She wanted to go to African in order to feel connection with her ancestral continent. She managed graduate as the top student and got a scholarship, which she used to go to Cairo and studied as an art major Cairo University. During her stay, she managed to meet with Dio during a night out with some friends and she became enamored with him that she went back to his mansion. Instead of killing her he then made her into one of his minions and struck her with a stand arrow to gain her power. Over her time with Dio, she became pregnant with their daughter and began to see his more evil side. She although stayed quiet because she didn't want to get on Dio's bad side. Around the time Dio was defeated she then gave birth to her daughter, sent her back to her mother, and continued studying at Cairo until Dio's death and went back to studying in the states and living with her mother and daughter.

Around the time she graduated she learned that her mother was killed in a burglary incident while she was in class, but her daughter was unharmed. From that point on, she continued to raise her daughter without any real knowledge of who her father was. She then became a psychologist and opened up her own clinic to help the community. She also kept a look out for any stand users, since she knew that other stand users would often attract themselves to others. When her daughter was 18 years old she confronted her about her father, when she looked through old photos of her mother's time in college and saw Dio. Her mother told her the truth and she then decided to go to England to study abroad, so she can get in touch with her English heritage.

She kept in touch with her daughter when she decided to stay in England and become a theater actress. She was then found out by Giorno, her daughter's half brother, who wanted to know more about her and his sister. She became close to him, since he was a son of Dio and happily saw he was a good person despite being a Mafia head.
