Here is Aaliyah as a kid, I had to pick out colors you would so see on a child raised in the 90's. I also like to think like any black girl her age she would have all kinds of barrettes and stuff to have in her hair. While she did have a good childhood with her mother, she really was traumatized after the burglary that killed her grandmother which caused her manifest her stand early. Due to her stand coming early, she as a result would often feel alone due how she and her mother could only see it. Also she grew up in the rough neighborhoods of Oakland and as a result her stand was useful in fending off any tough people around. Her mother also coached her on how to use her stand and be on the look out for people who might have a stand. Also despite people treating her as a bit of an outcast she still had small group of friends who she had due to protecting them from bullies. Her being a single mother home wasn't unusual since many other kids grew up without a daddy, but some people did note due to her being fairer skinned that her daddy could have been light skinned himself or even white - which she still held onto the idea it was the former. She also had her mom be the target of some people who were attracted to her and she rebuffed due to the fact she didn't know if they would treat her daughter right and she kind of wasn't interested in getting together with another guy after Dio. One thing she did to express herself was get involved in plays which she loved. She would join the local community kid's theater as a curricular activity, which her mother encouraged.
