My half of an art trade with ! This is the Chronicler who is a character from the Legend of Spyro series! Sadly I was not able to get his colors exact due to the limitations of my markers but I hope I did him justice of depicting an old but incredibly wise dragon.Related content

I used to play Spyro the series a long time ago. I've loved the beginning and the internal night, and the 3rd one because you can fly along with Cynder. The Chronicler was a really good dragon, that taught Spyro, a lot of elemental powers restoring them back to him. He's also like a guardian angel to him, he spoke to him, and guides him. And also granted Ignitis the gift of becoming the new chronicler. He's defiantly one of my fav dragons in those series. I hated to see that go sadly...

I too very much enjoyed both of series. A New Beginning was a great reimagining of Spyro! And Dawn of the Dragon was epic despite its sad conclusion! I really would have loved more of the franchise but alas...
And I think you are right... Chronicler is a rather overlooked character despite the importance of his role.

Yeah, the Chronicler...he was more like to me like a story teller, other than anything else. Never an enemy. Spyro, i think didn't trust him, but later on, did so. That's what made him, my fav dragon. He's not very much well known now. And that's sad. I missed him when he left

I quite enjoyed the series. If they really decide to remaster it like the rumors say now might be a good tiem to pick it up.

I think it was the game type. I was never a fan of the collectathon/puzzle games. Like banjo and Spyro. Or concors bad fur day. It wasn't apealing. But yet I loved Mario 64 lol. I was playing sports and star wars games at that time. And didn't have a ps1

Definitely an old and wise looking dragon! I can't remember seeing him in the games themselves but the colors and everything look pretty good to me.

the color issue is basically he's a very light faded blue. But yeah he shows up in later 2 TLoS games.

Are you really familiar with the series? I havne't played them all but I played all of the TLoS trilogy.

Β I loved it. The trilogy.Β Even the really old ones, with year of the dragon and the return of Gnork, was really good too! I loved the humor!

Oh yes! I really loved the original trilogy! So fun and endearing! Sadly as a child I was never able to fully complete them.

Me and my brother did. I hope this is no spoiler...or anything, but i thought you might wan't to know this. In Spyro a new beginning, Cynder the antagonist, was actually a protagonist, who was poisoned and used as a weapon from the dark masters black magic, and was raised from the apes.
When Ignitus explained that to Spyro, he was shocked to hear that, and he wanted to fly off to save her, in the "Prison" land of the dark master.
Where he's been sealed there from the other elder dragons, he awaits to be awaken again, with the help of his slave Cinder. Then Spyro came around and defeated her.
Thus changing her to normal, Spyro says "She is just like me" In realization that she really was poisoned. She almost get's absorbed into the gate of "Hell", Spyro decided to save her, considering that some of those raids at the beginning of the game, that she and her apes did. Wasn't her fault.
So he let's go, and flies to save her. Later when she was taken back home, Ignitus apologies to her and say's he was sorry for not saving her in time.
Sparks doesn't trust her you see, since he believes she still has dark magic in her, and just simply thinks, that just because she attacked them under a "spell" dosn't mean she's bad. But he thought so.
In the second game Spyro has a dream where he stops Cynder, he was seen flying away from that pit's of hell place (Melefors the dark master's seal) Was trying to absorb them in he hears a voice that said "Spyro.....Spyro...." He wakes up due to his friend calling his name, he though it was just a dream.
At the end, it turns out that the "Dream" that Spyro had turns out to come from Gual. That was the deep voice that was heard from his dream, he has a final battle with. Spyro finds Cynder in a prison, where she was kept, a different area that's similar to the dark masters section, but i think this one belongs to the apes.
And this had the ape boss Gual, a i think was a secondary boss or more like a commander for those apes to raid. That would explain the first one. Spyro fights him, to stop that from happening anymore.
During the fight Spyro found that Gual was too powerful to fight. I think, he was knocked into the beam in the middle of the stage, by Gual himself. Soon unlocked dark Spyro. Dark Spyro defeated Gual, by using his dark breath, and a massive fury that turned Gual into stone, and knocking him away. Basically he turned into dust.
Cynder sensed Spyro's power taking over him, she stops him by taking him out of the "Beam." After when Gual got defeated, he flew up and his friend Sparks flew away briefly. And Cynder jumps into him, knocking him away and stopping his power, calming him down.
The prison collapses, and they were about to escape, where Spyro found it impossible to escape, he creates a crystal barrier around his folks to protect them. While the prison fell on top of them.
At the end credits you will hear the Chroniclers voice say "This is not the end Spyro...as you'll make new allies along the way when you wake up. To live to fight another day." Or something along those lines.
And as you can see, there is an image of a character who seemingly looks like a cheetar with a bow, was actually Hunter from the other games looking at Spyro, waiting for him to wake up.
And that was exactly that, in the third one he wakes up, and finds himself in a upgraded area, with in the old prison. It's been rebuilt into some kind of stadium or Colosseum for new bad guy's. That now took over. The apes are gone, but now a new war started, over the gates of hell or the gates of fire or Malefore's world, or what ever you call it. Has been awakened.
And so at the end of the game, that's what the dark master is, his name is actually Malefore and he was actually a purple dragon that lived before Spyro, got too cocky over his powers. Because purple dragons are said, to be the most powerful dragon to exist, out of all the other dragons who's able to wield more elements than others.
He was the one that took control. And so in the final battle, you have a choice to play as Spyro or Cynder to defeat him. And once you do, the whole world would be destroyed pretty much, thanks to Malefor's plan, he created a massive Golum to create a "Belt" That will diminish all very quickly once the circle is complete. So once the monster comes around and goes into the core. Well yeah, that's what will happen. So Spyro yet again creates a barrier, but this time like a massive Sphere that stretched world wide, collected broken pieces of the world, literately! And put's it all back together
I know i wen't on for a long time, and i hope that's not like a spoiler or nothing, but since you didn't see what happened i decided to type this out for you. So you won't miss out
P.S In the very end of the third game, Sparks grew to like Cynder

I like that the new trilogy has more story than the old games. The story feels bigger and more interesting.
