Description In the summer of 1993, Prince officially changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol and expected the whole world to actually play along. Poor dope. Seems like exactly the sort of bizarre publicity stunt Aaron would try, too.

Simbol or not, I still read "AW" and first I thought it's a joke on electronics :/ (Something like Ohm or so)

For every good idea, there are a score of imitators. For every bad idea there are are two score of imitators, although that number decreases swifter then the former due to injury and foolishness.

Heh. That's actually funny
Maybe it's just me, but it looks like Amber could somehow end up being an item for Aaron down the line. I dunno, based on her expression, she doesn't seem to detest Aaron that much.

Actually Prince started the whole symbol thing as a big 'F-U' to Warner Brothers, his record label at the time. While I'm not a 100% on the details, at the time, His Purpleness was was switching his backup band from The Revolution to the New Generation, and the WB was giving him shit about ownership rights. The WB's lawyers said that the Brothers Warner (but not Dot) owned not only Prince's entire playlist, but- dig THIS- his NAME.

And, yes, 'Prince' IS his name. His full name at birth was Prince Rogers Nelson.

And you thot that YOUR parents were cruel.

Anyway PRN came up with the symbol as something that they couldn't glom onto, and went onto pretty much skip through his next two albums as quickly as he could to get out from under his contract. Alas, this ever so slightly bit his ass off, between his whacko reputation, the shoddy quality of those albums, and the ego-fest that was 'Under the Cherry Moon', his career took a dive that he's still working out from under. He charts, but he's not the hit machine that he used to be.
