Looking back, when it comes to my OCs, the drawings I've done for Dario have aged VERY poorly (I mean my gosh, that first one I did back in 2014 looks pretty d*** bad, and I drew that crap!)! His characterization back then wasn't too good either, something which I feel might've hurt this guy's overall reception with you guys (or rather, the smaller audience I had back then ). Normally OCs like that get dropped, but Dario is practically my favorite one I've created, so it's about time I FINALLY gave this edgy plumber a much needed redesign! There's still some edits that need to be done to it, but once again I'm submitting late, so I'll get back to that later. Even so...... DANG that looks SO much better than the previous designs!! 10/15/2018 Edit: Added a sinister blue flame to the drawing, now you know why Dario's left hand was posed the way it was!

Ah, Dario's not really manipulative unless he deems it necessary. He's typically more straightforward with his actions; if Dario wants to hurt someone, he'll just go right ahead and do it (rather than go through the whole, "gain their trust only to shatter it" deal).

At the same time, Dario doesn't believe in unnecessary killing either; just people who try to fight him. As such, best course of action is to just avoid the guy and don't get caught up in anything involving him.

He certainly looks a lot more menacing and mysterious, which I believe was the main point of this drawing, correct?
And judging by the Blue Flame, he possesses a lot of power, making him one guy you don't want to mess with.

It would also be safe to say that he's superior to Mario in terms of Brute Strength, yet inferior in other points of combat?

Dario: "Ha ha ha, so I'm an 'overly cocky bad guy' huh? Rest assured I don't call myself king for nothing; a lot of blood, sweat, and tears were shed in order for me to attain such a status. ...Although, most of the blood and tears didn't come from me, per se."
Normally they'd still be equals, but after the circumstances described in his bio, he went and found something to give him more power and became more focused on combat training then Mario (who tends to do his training during his adventures, what we the players would describe as "grinding"). The only downside is that he can't call on the Star Spirits to help him like Mario can.

So In Terms of Physical Power, Dario is Superior. However, when it comes to Spiritual and Mental Power, Mario is a step above.
That makes a lot of sense.

Dario has minions and all, but he's always been one to do things himself; they're there to help him "multi-task" so to speak, or when he knows that the opposition will have an army of their own. But like Mario, he's not against teaming up with his brother, especially when his foe(s) is/are powerful.

Huh, Ranger is similar in that regard. Preferring to be a lone wolf in combat, but not afraid to call for assistance when the going gets rough. It's mainly due to Ranger's Armor being 'one of a kind'.

When I first saw an old drawing of this guy my initial reaction was something like "why does this character exist". He desperately needed a redesign, and this one works very well

Oh gosh, which one? That very first one scares me with how awful it was! Didn't help that I've been neglectin' to draw the guy until now (then again, I guess it was good that I waited until I improved a bit first). I'm glad this design redeemed the character for you!

I'm only thinking about the name itself, not your artwork and besides, your artwork isn't related to the video at all. They obviously have no similarities of course. But the name just made me think of it. I guess it’s the way my mind works; when I hear a certain word or a certain joke, I just instantly think of something else that has the word/joke but is completely unrelated.
An example is when I hear the words Doki Doki, even Doki Doki Panic, I can’t help but instantly think of Doki Doki Literature Club.
Maybe it’s just the way my brain is on the spectrum.
