Description
This was Dario back in 2017. He got an extreme overhaul not only visually (as seen here: www.deviantart.com/jbx9001/art… ), but I also revamped this character's... character as well: www.deviantart.com/jbx9001/jou…It's crazy that for the longest time Dario's been my favorite OC, but needed the most work; probably a good thing I haven't started the comic yet then, because if I used him as his 2014 self... Hoo boy, I'd be in trouble...! But seriously, look at the newer drawing & bio, it's much better!

Well Dario's not based on Goku Black, people have just made the comparison. So to answer your question, no one.

I've only recently head of Goku Black; and yes, I do believe I came up with Dario before him (I created the character in 2012, and the first drawing of him I uploaded was back in 2014).
Backstory is probably way different too, but I'm keeping it quiet for now because they're spoilers.
A more accurate comparison is to Dark Pit and Dark Meta Knight; all three [including Dario] are from the same world.

Sooooo... Basically "Dark Chun-Li"? She's a cyborg though, if I read the article correctly; Dario doesn't necessarily shoot missiles from his body (I know you're referring to the drill thing, but everything else, not so much).

Sorta, I see what you mean. I'm keeping Dario's backstory a secret until I actually start working on the comic, but it shouldn't be similar to Goku Black's (I hope; I haven't heard much about him, so I can't say Dario was influenced by him).

Makes sense; but considering that Pokemon tend to get influenced by their Trainers, that'd be one scary Aegislash! Hydreigon is another one he'd use if he was a Pokemon Trainer.
Dario would especially show interest in using Ultra Beasts. I can't guarantee he wouldn't command them to attack the opposing Trainer either.

Totally, Sharpedo's one of my faves actually; I have one on my main team in Omega Ruby (because using Sharpedo to Surf is much faster and just looks cool!)

True that; with the exception of Pokemon Sun, I never really fished while surfing though (but you can't fish everywhere like you could before in that game, so I mainly do it because it's the only way to reach certain fishing spots).

Dario certainly reminds me of my Mario OC Yuko. Although Yuko is less strong and isn't actually evil. He's just very very bitter about his untimely fate and hates when people approach him and freezes them when he just wants to be alone. His uncanny resemblance to most plumbers that are very approachable does not help him either.

I'd explain more about Dario, but what I have in mind for him happens to contain major spoilers for the story, so I'm gonna have to remain quiet about it.

Taking a bit of inspiration from a Yuki-onna. Plus it's very easy to mistaken him for Mario at a distance. Since I didn't write much about him. His appearance(like most plumbers) has him look very much like Mario. Ironically enough, He's weak to Fire attacks. But he never really ventures far from his territory to actually encounter someone with these attacks. Mario usually tries to befriend him... Which usually ends with him being frozen and pushed off his mountain. Hopefully Yuko will one day soften up and try to befriend someone.
But all in all. Yuko's way more harmless than Dario. Because he rarely seriously hurts anyone. He either just freezes them to push them away somewhere or pushes them away in a snowball. Either way. Whoever he encounters usually ends up far away from him when they bust out the ice block.

Ah, I see, interesting how you using the Yuki-onna as inspiration for the character. You probably weren't going for this, but Yuko vaguely brings to mind the Portrait Ghosts from Luigi's Mansion; I probably would've given him eyes resembling theirs as a result, but again, that's just me. Does he guard a specific mountain seen before in a Mario game (a recent example: Mount Brr from Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam)?

Nope, the Star Beam is Dario's only weakness; he can be damaged, per se, but as you can see by the list of his abilities, doing so will be... Difficult, to say the least!
