Description In psychology, the word Persona is a term used to describe the mask or appearance one presents to the world. It is also used to describe the many versions of self that all individuals possess. Here are three versions of myself. The one I present to the world, the way I think I am perceived, and under it all is who I really am. The three appear similar because I believe it is impossible for us to ever view ourselves objectively.

The entire image is drawn including the tape and background.

This drawing will be featured on billboards, posters, etc. advertising a juried art festival September 16th - 18th in Wichita Kansas. I was selected to be the featured artist at this exhibit and will be conducting a realistic drawing workshop there following weekend.

I think I like the idea behind this the most. This has evoked the strongest personal response from me out of all your drawings. Pity only the hole in the paper gets to show of all of your skill but it is very effective.

I have to say, realism really is your thing! The bent paper, the slightly torn edges, the tape appearing to be losing its stick. All of it makes this look like it could be hanging on the wall.
That, and the concept is fantastic.

How did you do the shadow behind the tape and the paper of the main image? I can't see any pencil lines or anything.

The dark background is drawn with charcoal. The look of the paper is drawing with graphite pencils and the tape is rendered with a carbon pencil. All of these areas are blended with various materials to even out values and create different textures. I have a technique book and some free tutorials available on my site that shows my techniques. I'm also working on some videos that show me in the process of creating my work.
