Same here I felt like I was on her 100 miles run when firing her, she is a splendid engine.

People will thinkt that the flying scotsman was the frist but City of Truro was frist so I like to correct people about that XD

Aha, this is nice to see. I was ill and missed this loco at the SVR not so long ago, but I'll lap up most GWR locos. Especially this one.

But I thought in the Flying Scotsman was the one who went 100mph.

Scotty was first *officially* (ie timed with dynanometer car) but it's generally accepted Truro did 102.3mpg back in 1903...

well at least Flying Scotsman holds the *officially* title while Truro holds it generally. Strange that they both hold the same record.

Lots of people argue either way as to the 'first'. I'm biased for little City though; first engine I fired and she's a real beaut!

I love her too. and she's a beauty, no doubt about it. But as far as I'm concerned, both Truro and Scotsman share the same record.

Indeed, though Truro was first!
