Overrated is a term that we used to basically describe about something or someone that gets a lot of attention more than any other thing there is. Weather it is a character, a video game, a show, a person, a movie, a book, or in this case, a pairing. That’s right, I’ll be counting down the pairings that I think are overrated. I will also be explaining why I think these pairings are overrated, so if you have a pairing that you like on here, I will explain. Also if you like any of the pairings on this list, that’s fine. Everyone has different opinions. These are just the ones I think are overrated. There are a few on here are some I don’t like, but they are also the ones I think are overrated as well. Alright, with that said, let’s get started.

10.) Naruto/Hinata-Naruto series
Okay before I explain why I think this pairing is overrated, I want to give out my apologies’ to people I know on here and watches me that are fans of this pairing. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, and I’m sorry. Alright with that out of the way, basically this pairing is on here because I heard this pairing is one of two in the series that a lot of people gets behind and to be honest I don’t really have a problem with this one. That’s probably because I don’t really watch the series and all that involve with the series. Sorry if this one was a waste of time. Oh but I want to add in my thoughts on this becoming a canon in the series. Well there was another fanon pairing that is now made canon and uh…[looks at the Gwen hate counter]…yeah going to talk more about that one later on. Let’s just hope that this one doesn’t follow the same path as that one did.

9.) Tai/Sora-Digimon seasons 1 & 2
Yeah I think this on is overrated because of the reaction almost everyone got when season 2 ended, and to be honest I don’t think its a big deal, but that’s just me though.

8.) Snake/Samus-Super Smash Bros. Brawl
You remember what I said about this one in my top 10 least favorite pairings; “To me this couple just got to popular too quick for its own good.” yeah that statement is also applies to here too. I basically already explain about this pairing before. So, I’ll just skip my explanation on this pairing because I’ll just be saying what I said about it before.

7.) Contestshipping aka Drew/May-Pokémon series
Oh before I explain, I just want to let you all know when I was working on this, I focus on the ones before Black & White because Black & White is still a little fresh. So I’m wasn’t counting the pairings that are from there I didn’t count. Anyways the pairing, I put this one on this list cause this is one of three shippings in the Pokémon franchise that is used a lot that I’ve seen. This one is this low cause to me I think that this shipping out of the three is the least overrated one of the three.

6.) FlutterMac aka Big Macintosh/Fluttershy-My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
I was going to let this one slide, give it the benefit of the doubt even, but after a few views of some YouTube videos, pictures, and comments, good grief I’m sick of seeing this pairing everywhere. I mean I understand why people will get behind this pairing, but at the same time, some of its fans take this pairing way too overboard. Basically bashing on another pony and that pairing because of an episode that features it in it.

5.) Ikarishipping aka Paul/Dawn-Pokémon series
Arrgh, well here’s the second most over used shippings in the Pokémon franchise in my view. Why? They are to opposite for each other. There is no proof in the show that they like each other. The only proof there is that I see is that she wants to beat him up. And to be honest I kind of expect Penguinshipping to be there than this one. At least with Penguinshipping it has a little proof to it.

4.) Duncan/Gwen-Total Drama series
Sigh, why just why? Ever since this became canon, basically almost all the fans of the hate is on Gwen. Even though it should be on Duncan. But once again, he gets away with it because he is basically now the golden boy of the series now. But hey, maybe in the next season we won’t have to deal with…[looks and sees both Gwen and Duncan will be on Total Drama All-Stars along with Courtney]…of course they will be. Well there’s another season that I’m not going to be watching.

3.) Pokeshipping aka Ash/Misty-Pokémon series
Alright I know I’m stepping into tainted waters with this one. So I’m going to say this before I continue. I do not, I repeat, I do not hate this pairing. I’m not a fan of it like I was back in the day, but I do not hate it. I just find this one the most overrated shipping of the Pokémon franchise. One being the whole reaction to Misty’s leaving along with the appearance of May, and so on with it.

2.) Duncan/Courtney-Total Drama series
Hello Duncan…again. Where do I even begin with this one? Well first I do stand by my statement about it in Top 10 least favorite pairings, but that is over shadow by how overrated this one is. Part of it is with the reactions to the screw job during season one and now with the love triangle that is now going on. And again Duncan gets away with it even though he’s the one who cause the situation in the first place.

And my number one overrated pairing of all time is...

1.) All pairings that has the obsessed fan scenario-various series
Or as I like to call it; ‘The Sonic/Amy Rose scenario’. When I think of what is overrated, I always look at what I think it has been used a lot, and from what I have seen with some pairings out there, this scenario has been used a lot in pairings more times than the bad boy good girl scenario. What make this scenario so great that it been repeatedly used for different pairings. The only thing that this scenario tells me that the person that is being hunted by the obsessed fan needs to get a restraining order against the fan as soon as possible, and I kind of feel sorry for the pairings that have this scenario. I mean who knows maybe they would of might have been good pairings without this scenario.
