This series of portrait really looks like a new step in your photography, compared to older works.

The colors and the attitude really make this portrait pop, creating a visual appeal that draws my mouse to the +fav button.

I focus a lot on technical aspect (some people say too much) so I'll start by this point.

First, I'm glad to see a great shot made with a point&shoot. Proves that the gear doesn't make the picture.

The use of a wide angle, usually deprecated in classic portraiture really brings out the eccentric pose and the attitude of the model. The distortion magnifies the importance of the arm and the mouth, and increases the oddness of the pose, in a good way.

The lighting is also very efficient. Simple, but sufficient. I love one source setups, usually very dramatic. Just enough light to see the eye trough the sunglasses, and bring out the face. The background light (same source? combo? e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" /> ) helps to cut the model's dark hair from the background.

I just downloaded the picture in full size, and I was quite surprised to see the bizarre effect you applied. The portrait really works well on a small scale, but I don't think the filters you applied are necessary. Just looks muddy & noisy at full scale... (even though I was surprised by it's sharpness in small view). Anyway, it's isn't supposed to be viewed very close so that doesn't really matter.

Appart from that, I don't see much to improve this shot. Maybe a bit of post to remove the blemish on the chin and on the left forearm, and some dusts on the background, and a bit of work on the nails? But that's not really necessary.

The colors really work well together, soft beiges and whites, with those hints of red that really flash.

The overall composition is classic but works well.

Just keep up the good work!

I like the way you have incorporated red in this shots. They are mild and little yet adds much required color cheer to the shot. And the model expressions are strong as well
