The framing of this is very effective. The dark leaves on the sides and at the top make the focal point just pop forward in the eye of the viewer. The rule of thirds is employed beautifully here and magnifies the already engaging composition, one that leads the enraptured viewer downward toward the reflection and it's almost as if we're slipping through a veil of water into the spirit world. It's done in a slightly ominous, yet wonderful fashion. I love how the tones of color speak a nostalgia of a more spiritual and dangerous world, a world that we are given only a glimpse of briefly in a new age of science and technology.

I've heard the rumor that the skies are grey there because of excessive pollution. Sad if that is really true.

Damn, this is good. I was offered a contract to teach in China, but opted for Korea instead. I'm afraid I'm too old now.

Woow very nicee, back in the old days the designs are way more unique and out of this world and plus they mean something. now days not much people would build such great architectural buildings anymore. maybe they do but not as much as it should've been anyways.

Looks straight to me Don't judge based on the base of the pagoda since the photo was taken at an angle and don't judge based on the edge of the pond since the pond is curved, making it a poor substitute for a true horizon.

TTM77 In reply to JeanFan [2009-07-26 23:12:09 +0000 UTC]

No, I judge it base on the real and it's reflection cause usually those are perfectly vertical.

It always amaze me how the eyes can see that tiny little thing.
