I haven't drawn a decent picture in months. ;u; But now that the UBF contest is over for me and I have a bit more free time, I thought a little practice would be nice. Its safe to say that I'm not as rusty as I thought I'd be but I still couldn't figure out a decent background, ha. And its too dark. I do hope the poor bug isn't afraid of the dark.Ever since I finally got that black and white pokemon game, I think I find myself quite fond of the volcarona pokemon. Had to try my hand at drawing it realistically. eue
Though I still can't figure out if those are horns or antennae on its head. Even though the latter was chosen for this pic, they're probably horns indeed. =A= Also, couldn't decide whether to make the wings butterfly wings, mutant wings, or some other kind of bug wings, so I found myself experimenting and this is what came into being. Some kind of... fairy...leaf-like petal doodads. I like it. Even if the poor bug's wings are look like they're almost torn to shreds.

Its been a while, so I don't remember how long it this drawing took, but I think the details only took a couple of hours, ha. I wasn't really picky and just let the lines and spots go where ever they wanted
Except the fur. The fur was a pain in the butt.

i think they are antennae, considering volcarona is based on a moth.

True true. I think it would make more sense as well if they were antennae because they'd be more useful than horns if its never gonna use them as a battering ram or something similar like that.

i kind of imagined him generating fire inbetween the antennae, like a tesla coil juat with fire instead.
i actually like larvesta quite a bit more than volcarona, because he's so cute and fuzzy, and such a fancy fringe too, i would put him on my lap like a cat and pet him! assuming he doesn't burn me anyway
but volcarona is still totally badass

that is one amazing fire moth Volcarona is one of my maine faves of the gen4 pokes he is a badass pokemon and is strong. You made this pokemon look so real its like i am looking out my window and see it hovering right there taunting me to try and catch it lol
