Description When through the original movie a while back and picked out some scenes that I wanted to draw. This was the first one I selected. The first look of Godzilla, appearing over the mountain side, is one of the most memorable scenes in the original film.

Thank you! This was one that I knew was going to be difficult when I started. The screen shot from the movie is always blured so I kind of had to use my imagination when I did the people. Same thing with the color, seeing how the movie is in black and white. ha haΒ

Wonderful use of colors here, and this is a nice retelling of that moment! Kudos!

Thank you I tried to mix as many shades of green as I could to make the scene come alive. I would have liked to used water color for the sky but because of the paper it would have ruined it. Not thick enough.Β

Thank you I was originally going to do it in black and white like the film but I have color pencils stock piling in my art box so I've been trying to get rid of them. lol

Although, I wonder what it would be like to watch the original film in color. I know the black and white helps it with mood and special effects, but if they were to released a color version I would totally watch it. I'm sure the process would be expensive though.Β

I imagine now days they would do it digitally, frame by frame, which is still a lot of work compared to the original way the used to do it which was hand painting each frame. Or at least I think that's how they did it.Β

Not a problem man and yeah a colored version would be totally awesome! Would love to see the original that way!
