I spent my whole childhood thinking that Meta Knight is Too Cool For Dancing bc of Smash and the anime so when I first saw him dance in the newer games I knew thatΒ IT MUST BE THE WORK OF AN ENEMY STAND THE PENGUIN KING
On a serious note, I have this headcanon that Dedede really hates Meta Knight playing the Cool Distant Knight when he's really a cutie who loves dancing and sweets. So he makes him do these "embarassing" things that he knows Meta secretly enjoys.
