Ashura isn't a girl though, he's male, hence why he's addressed as King and not Queen.
I am assuming you do not know where Ashura comes from and his original series, it's from Rg-Veda.
But no, Ashura is not male, believe me on this, he's gay and has a penis.
Wikipedia was correct on addressing him as a male, just because he's feminine looking, doesn't mean he's a girl, it's CLAMP, they are known for doing things like this.
You should check out the manga, it's better than the anime which butchered up everything.

Trust me, Ashura is male, he's been around since 1989, may I ask, what version of Tsubasa are you watching.
But, please be known that some cases of both Rg-Veda and Tsubasa Chronicles have been translated wrong due to homophobia floating around in some countries.
But yes, Ashura is male, this is why I suggest the manga and not anime, in English/Japanese of the anime Ashura has a female voice actor due to his feminine appearance.
But it does not automatically make him female.
Note the flat chest, androgynous face, and anatomy, the only thing that really makes him look female is the fact he has long hair and he's very skinny, but then again, look at Fai.
I have this argument all the time with people mistaking his gender to be female due to his looks and the fact people can't accept a gay char in a main stream anime.

Ah, so you got the English version, with Japanese extra, that's common on English DVD's, eh and in America sadly Ashura's gender was changed to female due to homophobia.
I hate it when people call him a girl honestly, it's very irritating and untrue to his char.

Rg-Veda, although I warn you, the Rg-Veda anime is very old, poorly done, low quality, inaccurate and was so badly done that CLAMP themselves had it taken off.
It's a two part OVA.
I highly suggest the manga of the series, it's far better, but if you really want to watch the anime (Which they again translated Ashura's gender incorrect) you can.
Although if you like, I can tell you what you need to know, I am a big Ashura-Fanboy and have been following his char for years.

Not just one, my absolute favorite.
Ok, I am assuming you have only seen the English version to Tsubasa Chronicles, dub and translated by FUNImation.
In Tsubasa Chronicles, take note they're two Ashura chars -King Ashura of Celes (Fai's country) and King Ashura of Shura (The one I'm talking about)
*Also take into note that in these times, King is another word for Ou, Ashura-Ou.*
The Ashura char we are talking about comes from CLAMPS first series Rg-Veda, which came out in 1989, in that series they're three Ashura chars, *Child Ashura, Adult *Dark* Ashura, and his father Ashura-Ou. (Who is dead in Rg-Veda)*
The series mainly follows Child Ashura and his friends on a quest to take out an evil King, but Child Ashura has another side to him, a older version of himself *Who by the way is what Tsubasa Ashura is roughly based on* I say roughly due to the only thing they have in common is looks.
Adult Ashura in Rg-Veda is the God of Destruction, technically he is actually an it, for it's genderless due to being a God. This is where the confusion on Ashura's gender in Tsubasa Chronicles comes into play. Due to some fans of CLAMP (like me) who know who Ashura is from remembering him in Rg-Veda, we could easily say that it's genderless, but in fact that's incorrect, for Ashura doesn't become a God until he kills Yasha (The zombie dude with the scare/lover) and himself, not only till then does he become a God (Hence why the statues are worshiped as Gods)
It was Ashura's wish to Yuuko, for him and Yasha to become Gods of the land.
But until that time, Ashura is male, hence why he is addressed as King and not Queen.
After he kills himself and Yasha does he become genderless.
But he was never female.
*Going back to the fact they're are two Ashura char in Tsubasa Chronicles, Ashura-Ou of Celes is of no relation to Ashura-Ou of Shura, they just coincidentally have the same name, unlike in Rg-Veda where they are father and son.*
If you need more explanation, I can give it to you.

You are welcome, always here to serve and correct, I utterly hate it when people address him as female, it's untrue.
Yes unfortunate things like that happen.
But you are welcome, I hope you enjoy Rg-Veda.
