Nice job!
Tell me please, how you create a carpet? Is that a Hair&Fur?

Jempelempots In reply to FAT-FRUMOS [2012-04-06 16:07:48 +0000 UTC]

Thanks man its a subdivided chamfer box to have carpet thickness, yes I used max hair and fur with 200k hair I think and 4 segments, has a standard white vray material, after that go to environment and effects window then select hair and fur at effects list, then scroll down click the hair and fur drop down list, at the hair rendering options, there is a hair drop down list, click select mr prim, thats it, vray should work flawless with max hair and fur, unless you got a heavy scene. Also you can have a more realistic effect of the carpet, turn on the TIP FADE check box under the material parameters of the hair and fur in the modify panel, BUT that will Really increase your render time.. Hope this helps man! Thanks again!

Thnx for your answer. I'll try to use it.
But when i was use hair&fur with VRay my carpet have no shadows. I'm talking about shadows from hairs. That's problem.

hrmmm, ok, I used direct light as my main light and vray light only as fill, I made sure vray shadow is selected on shadows tab at general parameters, still at direct light, go to vrayshadow params, make sure transparent shadows and area shadow (sphere) are checked and double the subdivs maybe 16 or 24 for less noisy shadow. Since I used vray for rendering I set the shadows as vray shadow at the direct light, try it with the setup I gave you above, thats what I used in this pic. There this article that mentioned a problem of casting shadow of hair and fur when lit by vray light. Not sure though if this is true. Thanks. ^^,

Hm. So, you use a standart light, fotometric or smth like that? Because i in my interrior i using a VRay sun.
Well, i'll make some tests, later.
I think render takes not to much time.

good taste I really like the light setup, looks like a HDR photo.
I guess the tree at the outside is added later with PS!? if not that is also realy tasty! good job!

Jempelempots In reply to tolgahan [2012-04-05 05:24:07 +0000 UTC]

Thanks man! ^^, Actually, I only used direct light and vray skylight, and also a vray light at the glass door with the skylight portal checked. I was able to simulate natural lighting with that. ^^, The tree outside is actually a mesh, and I used After Effects with the magic Bullet Looks plugin for the post editing. Thanks man I really appreciate it ^^,
