Week 40: Draw an old pony
G1 ponies are old ponies. This is how I roll. *brck'd*
So, back in Gen1, there were these ponies called "Glow 'N Show Ponies", and they were semi-transparent and they had little yellow/pink stars and hearts inside the plastic of their bodies that would glow in the dark. They only had one run of them, but I always thought they were kind of amazing.
Starglow is actually chilling on my desk right now, so that's why I decided to draw her.
Although sweet merciful Celestia, WHY IS HER CUTIEMARK SO COMPLICATED? OTL The other three got shit like party hats, and doves, and umbrellas. But no Starglow, you had to be all "NAW MAN, MOONLIT CANDELABRAS AND PIANOS". Ffffffff. DX
It has always been my headcanon that Luna should be bros with the Glow 'N Show ponies. Because I mean, seriously, PONIES MADE OF STARS. No one would appreciate the night more. *shot*

I run a pony page on FB called mylittlepony fan-world also a forum called www.littleponyfan-world.com I'm looking for an artist to help me with desgins for like the forums banners and pony posters and stuff for the FB page I have. Was wondering if you or someone you know would be up for the job I need doing? I've had some reports of abuse to the forum due to a banner that wasn't drawn by hand as because it had artwork hasbro used them selfs the banner was done using colour pages and photoshop my a girl I have helping out on the forum. WE WERE ALL IDIOTS AT 12. :c I lost an enormous chunk of my old MLP collection, because I was too sick and angry-emo-teen when I moved from my first house to care enough to sort through my toys and stuff for the things I wanted to keep.
I was lucky enough that my parents are kind of sentimental and they actually managed to save a lot of the actual ponies, but ASDFJKL SO MANY PALYSETS AND ACCESSORIES GONE FOREVER. :c *pimpslaps younger self for not saving all of the ponies forever*

Orange, um... it was probably either Brightglow or Happyglow. XD They had two orange ones for some weird reason.
Poor Starglow, she was totally the odd one out in that series. Everyone else was orange or pink with fairly normal cutiemarks, and then she rolls in all green and complicated marks. *shot*

Oh my gosh, I'm working on setting up a Morning Glory (+ all the other Flutter Ponies on the side) ask blog. This is my way of coping with being sad I was never able to get a hold of a Flutter Pony with in tact wings (I got one or two at yard sales, but these things were apparently fragile enough god help you if you /breathed/ on them.)
I can drop you the WIP via note if you want - I'm not spreading the link around in public until its /ready/.
Always loved the Flutter Ponies. I appreciate the thought behind the Glimmer Ponies in G4 but the wings are just so UGLY compared to the pretty flutter pony wings. I wish they'd made them semi-transparent. If they looked ANYTHING like Rarity's wings in the Rainboom episode I'd have bought them up so fast the store would have caught whiplash.
Thinking of buying some of them anyways and then using transparencies to do mods of the Flutter Ponies in G4 style by removing the Glimmer Wings. I wonder how you strip bait ponies... there are probably tutorials all over the internet. XD

Hhhhnng, oh my goodness yes, this is so very relevant to my interests. I love flutter ponies so much. ;u;
I never had them as a kid, because yeah, jesus christ those wings were the most fragile thing in forever and my parents knew if I actually broke them I would cry forever. But I acquired a Forget-Me-Not on eBay a few years ago, and actually found a girl (also on eBay) who made absolutely perfect replacement wings for Flutters. <3 I wonder if she's still around, they were really impressive.
Yeahhh, I will still eventually buy the Glimmer ponies, but those wings are just... bad. I could forgive the lack of transparency/the slightly silly overall style of the wings, if they were just freaking proportionate with their tiny pony bodies. As it stands now they're just so awkward and... well, silly. (Notquite)Flutter ponies should be graceful, (just like all boy ponies should be Clydesdales *shot* ) Hasbro why do you forget these things. :I

Pffft, I want to make a pony ask blog so badly, but I don't even know who to make it about. orz Maybe Sweet Cream, she has the most worked out backstory.
Ideally, I'd like one for Jenapony, but that would be silly, she is not very interesting, and doesn't even have an actual pony name/cutiemark explanation yet. Haha, G1 mentality. orz *shot*

Flutter ponies are so best ponies. Oh man, I've got a G4 friend who was all "You finally have an OC!" and I wanted to cry it sucks being a G1 fan sometimes. XD

Ah haha, I dunno, I'm never too good playing premade characters. XD That's why making a canon/BG/G1-3 pony ask never crossed my mind.
Plus I just know as soon as I make one based on a recolour, they'd wind up in the show like Blossomforth, and then suddenly it'd be like "OMG UR DOING IT WRONG, THAT'S NOT HOW SHE ACTS. D:<"
When it comes to Flutter Ponies, I think it might be acceptable to sort of handwave the whole Cutiemark thing/make up slightly different rules since they aren't exactly pony-ponies. Something like "they don't represent our special talents, they represent our personality", or that they are just all good with one particular flower or something. I don't know. XD;;
Ah haha, oh, that is kind of sad. The eternal lament of the G1ers. XD
