I kind of feel bad for how long I've been neglecting doing things for the ATG. D: Blame a combination of too many other things to do and general art block-y-ness, I suppose.

I thought I'd be skipping this week's theme too, because frankly there's no way I could make any sort of tutorial. But then I realized I could take the theme literally, and record my sketching. It's been a really long time since I've done that, so it seemed like as good a time as any.

Sorry that the quality is so terrible. I really can't decide if Camstudio or Windows Movie Maker is to blame. Or maybe a combination of both. orz

A rundown of how drawing usually goes for me:
- Rough sketch: This usually gets altered, redone, completely trashed, and started over from scratch at least a dozen times.
- Clean sketch
- Lineart
- Opacity lock the lineart layer(s), and go over it with colour.
- Start colouring; lots of layers to make fixing my mistakes easier. I know a lot of people use the fill tool, but I have ruined so much lineart that way in my younger days, and so prefer to just colour under it.
- Shading on the rare occasions I am not lazy. I will usually save and create a new file and shade directly on the preexisting colour layers.
- Dick around with backgrounds. Hate them all. Discard and save as a transparent BG. *shot*
- ???
- Art!
