Just doing some more aperture/bokeh/focus studies. I sort of like this one because of the trees in the background. Advice/critique welcome as always

Overall I found this piece to be a beautiful, simple representation of the approaching and already arrived season. You've managed to capture beauty in decay and simplicity. I love the intense difference of focus between the foreground and background. It gives the entire capture a feeling of serenity and peace. Wonderful.
For things that I feel could use improvement - the negative space along the bottom of the image is a little too empty for my taste. Perhaps consider, next time, altering the position and amount of your foreground visible. For this piece in particular, I would have included more of the branch and decaying leaves.
Their intense colors, whether the lively greens or fading yellows and browns, set the tone for the entire image. What lacks for me... is seeing more of it. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="15" height="13" alt="

Lovely. F/1.4 gives you an awfully narrow depth of field for this sort of thing. F/3.5 or so would keep more of the leaves and branch in focus while still giving you the soft focus for the trees and bokah.
