Well I'm thinking of something between War Horse and Black Beauty set in Medieval Scotland, maybe the 12- or 1300s, and Skye is one of the ones, like his father (who is dead now) that train horses for the Scottish Cavalry. Then one day a farmer who needs money desperately has to sell two of his horses to Skye for money and Skye grows very attached to them both; a mare and her colt. (I love naming characters so if you don't mind, personally, I'm going to call them Heather and Ash. I imagine Ash with a darker coat than his mother and very dark mane and tale. I think he's more uncertain and unsure about Skye and keeps his distance until later on when he finally learns to trusts him more. I think maybe Heather and Ash are called in to the Cavalry to fight in Andrew Moray and William Wallace's small resistance against Edward I, maybe the battle of Stirling Bridge, but Skye is anxious because he knows the odds against the English are low for the Scots and so joins Wallaces army too to keep an eye on them. The scots win, though, in the battle, but the whole time Skye has been trying to keep an eye on both his horses whilst trying to stay alive, as he hasn't been allowed to fight with them since he isn't a cavalry soldier. I guess it could end either way! Not decided which would be more dramatic: relief or grief?! Maybe they fight at Bannockburn with Robert the Bruce or maybe Heather gets injured or dies at Stirling but Skye together with Ash help to win and survive Bannockburn? Maybe you should give 'Skye and Horses' to Michael Morpurgo to make a story out of! I just love your characters! When I first looked at Skye I decided straightaway that he was a Hamish, but I like Skye too. I think it's just because I'm use to hearing it as a girls name! :} Really want to write the whole story now! A feature film's even forming in my head! :}

I'd love to hear your story and see 'what really happens'! :} I love War Horse too but I've only seen it once, in the cinema, which is a record for me! That's because I was literally crying from the start of the movie all the way through to the end! I literally don't think there is anything sadder than World War I :{ but I'm very emotional anyway! Im on my october holiday right now so i have some time between my higher year at school (thats the second last year of high school) to do some stuff so I guess it would be quite a nice project to write a short story about Skye! Although I can't seem to get anything done that i need or want to do anyway! I want to get this kids picture book done that I started a while ago so I can maybe sell some copies at my school Christmas Fair in December. Would you mind looking at the illustrations I've uploaded already on my site and tell me what you think of them? It's the folder entitled 'The Christmas Reindeer'. Thanks a lot and glad you liked my story idea! :}

If you hadn't said about your "bad english" I would never have known you didn't speak it as a first language! :} The Netherlands! It must be beautiful there! Theres a lot of countryside isn't there? Your story sounds great! It reminds me a bit of an old Scottish soap opera we had here called 'Monarch of the Glen'! This could be a great soap opera too! :} Keep it up!

Daarom had je dus al die ref's van paarden nodig! :D
'k Vind het opzich echt nog wel heel goed gelukt, maar de nek van het veulentje lijkt me een beetje te stijf? Ik heb het gevoel alsof de nek niet zo recht kan strekken om de een of andere reden. Ook zijn de ogen misschien een klein beetje te klein bij je man, gezien de omvang van het hoofd. Maar voor de rest vind'k het echt geslaagd! :3
