cover to cover assignment for Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. all i really wanted to do was draw a fairy....b/c i haven't drawn one for about a decade. i took a break from my painful-digital-intense-detail style and actually enjoyed working on this. i was thinking about toulouse lautrec, japanese printmaking, and mucha...but it ended up extremely heavy on mucha. oh well.watercolor, digital

The colors are so very simplistic and light in tone, yet they are so very vibrant and exotic all the same. Her expression and even the tilt of the chin are all very nicely done.
Magnificent job, my good fellow! I love how it goes from a dry looking peach hue to a luscious teal towards the bottom; such a great technique~!

Unbelievably lush and sensuous. Yes heavy on the Mucha (which fit the theme) but LauTrec can be seen, as well as the Japanese influence in the hair.

I especially like how the lines in the hair and the flowers-or whatever they are- are basically thins lines of negative space. It's a really pretty graphic design-type choice.

Amaaaaazing work. I'm so in love with all of the colors you chose, especially with that interesting move from the warmer hues at the top to the cool, pond-y shades at the bottom. And the little ringlets are just delicious.
