Description
Spring time is flower time 
This is the result of an experiment with some new paper (Fluid 100) other botanical illustrators recommended. I'm not 100% happy with it, because the paint easily lifts off the paper, when I paint over it repeatedly. But I like the smooth suface. Maybe I just have to get used to it
Done in water colour with a touch of white gouache on Fluid 100 Hot Press paper

Thank you very much! After painting all the details in the flower, I needed a break and did the background more loosely. Looks like it was a good idea

Thank you so much, Patty! I wasn't very happy with the painting in the process, because of the new paper and its challenges. But I'm glad about the colours, too and that the details came out so crisp

What little I've done in water colors no matter what type of paper is a challenge for me. My paint brushes and water colors have a mind of their own. lol. Yours always come out so beautiful no matter what.

This is absolutely stunning! I adore the color of the rose and the use of a darker background to make it pop more. Even the background itself isn't dull, you added intrigue and definition to it. Amazing work!
