Description As some of you know we are renting a little house in Galle. Sri Lanka..........(Please read my Journals if you are interested) while we are 'fixing up' our house here.
This Lady was living right here, close to the beach with a 'tidal' waterway when the Tsunami struck.
The new family who bought the land from her have 'adopted' her and she lives with them as though she is a Grandma.
Her smile literally lights up our day BUT she will keep her 'eyes' shut. Oh! She has absolutely no teeth!

I love the photos and love her story even more It is amazing the fortitude of those people who faced the tsunami I have spent time in Indonesia at an orphanage that is filled with the sweetest children who were displaced by the tsunami They have gone through more than I could ever imagine

Absolutely.
Life here is in the raw for a lot of people.........and they don't grumble and moan like we do in the West.

she looks absolutely delightful. regarding her eyes, maybe sees only what she wants to see-- understandable after what she has been through.

She is like a child.
Actually I looked into her eyes last night and it seems she cannot open them much.....although I know she is not blind.
She is also very short.

Not really sure.........bit of an Insurance Policy really.
I do think that if one is good in life IF one comes back you have a different but better life?

But like you say, nothing wrong in looking at it as a insurance policy lol

Doesn't take much to be nice to someone - after all, a simple action could make someone's entire day. Not being so nice to someone, or missing out on an opportunity to help another uses us way more energy than helping them!

Its interesting hearing about people's beliefs and thoughts on spirituality

A lesson for us all............................I sometimes think of when we come back to Europe again and my heart goes down because we moan and complain and hardly ever smile, over stupid LITTLE things.

Yes she is my Cy................her smile lights up everytime we see her and yet her 'life' has been awful.
