ok so this is the fourth in my ff sleeping series. its taken ages to finish this one as i've been busy!any ways its from ff9 and it capture zidane and dagger in the black mage village. i couldn't quite remember who was on the top and who was on the bottom. i think i got it the right way round.
but any ways i used water colours and then picked out a few highlights with white ink and a little bit of chalk to give the light a glowing feel. i think they are slightly longer body wise then in the game but i don't really think that makes any diffence lol.
next up will be cecil from ff4 as requested by MrsNox.

Kudos for completing a lovely piece via traditional methods! I have yet to make a watercolour image that looks any good, but this is amazing (to me, anyways). Quiet, peaceful, yet so fleeting. It would have been cool to see Steiner nodding off too, considering we never see him out of armor.

Watercolour is so forgiving, so it is perfect for practice. It's so fun to blend different colors. However, I tend to prefer lettering over anything else right now. One day I'll find my way in a sea of techniques.

I'm sad. I can't remember this part... then again, I did start the game back when I was 13 or so... Good thing I'm replaying it!
Anyway, great job with your colors I really love how well the shadows and lighting are done, especially on the clothing and the beds blankets.
Zidane and Garnet do seem to be a bit longer than in the game, but that I prefer yours as they're more proportionately accurate.
The only thing that really stands out to me that could be improved is Zidane's arm. It looks kind of flat. Maybe if the shoulder had been just a bit more rounded it'd be perfect.
Sorry for the random critique. I'm practicing for my future career as an art teacher.

its at the part where they are in the black mage village and zidane tells dagger about his past. this pic isn't in it exactly lol but when you get there i'm sure you'll know what i mean
i know what you mean about his shoulder tho cause i always rush my pictures...i don't know why i try not to but sometimes i just do.
dont worry about it i like it when people comment on my work. thanks for the cool things you said about the colours and the lighting as i did work hard to capture these parts. i'm sure you'll make a great art teacher

I remember the Black Mage Village, but none of the details of it. But yeah, I'll remember when I see it, lol.
I do the same thing. For me, it's hard to really have the patience. I know that when I'm drawing I just want to get to the finished product because I want to see what it looks like, but I'm working on that.

Wow this looks so good! Both Dagger and Zidane looks just like their game design. I like all the little details you have painted into the picture like how Zidane's tail is hanging to the side. I like the lighting in this painting. Also Zidane and Dagger looks so adorable.
