Still, looked ok, not as sharp as it could, but ok.

This is really a great piece of work. The steel texture is superb.
Anyway, the overall excellence of the image prompts some little remark (just my opinion, of course): the brass material looks a lot shiny, and adds a steampunk look not really appropriate to a real gun. The cheeks look like plastic; was this one your deliberate choice?

I'll look into shininess, try it foe other ways and see what I like best. And as for the handle - it's just a base material, no textures yet, will make it ivory

Hand modeled and baked onto model's UV... sounds tricky, buy workflow-wise was great. Did it all while watching TV series on quarter of the screen

I just started doing that last night while I was working...had a movie on netflix - basically just listened to the movie. Doesn't work so well with action movies though haha.

Well, I watched Merlin at the moment, didn't liked it too much... just "meh", I guess. Often with faster scenes I would lose track of action, shrug: "well, I don't care anyway" and keep working enjoying generic sword fighting sounds. So it was a good choice of series in a way 
Tried it with Game of Thrones too. Epic failure. Spend two days watching and adding two or three scratches to texture between episodes
