Description This is the other of the two commissions I did for my first international client. I really enjoyed working on this one. I feel like I was channeling Neal Adams here. That's not a comparison but an observation based on my influences.

Looks great.
And yes, it is very much indicative of the Neal Adams style (but with touches that make it very much your own style as well)

That's cool. BTW- since we're on the subject of style, what do you think are the distinguishing features of my work?

Easily, it's your exceptional figure rendering and poses.

your figures have a very athletic, but realistic, build.
Your poses are always interesting and well-suited for the particular character you've depicted.

Plus, I've noticed that you're able to incorporate particular artist's styles (Kirby, Romita, Adams, and others) without becoming carbon copies of either.

A well-rounded comic book art style (with classic comic book touches here and there).

Great stuff!

wow, Thank you very much for the thoughtful reply. I only ask because I still feel like I'm searching for that definitive "Elliot" style. But you seem pretty convinced. Thanks again...

I wouldn't worry too much about creating a "definitive style".
True artistic style should change and grow organically over an artist's lifetime.
Otherwise, you just become an imitation of yourself, over and over again.

Compare the art of Jack Kirby in the 40's to that of Jack Kirby in the 70's.
One would almost think it was two different artists!

Just draw.
The style will be what it will be.
