Let's call it set in the 50s, so MID-1900s is more like it. "Early" makes it sound like a Charlie Chaplin movie, which are also great.
And I believe there are plenty of people who name their sons "Hogarth." It's just not so common here in the US, which makes it appropriately funny for the film, yes? Besides, it's a cartoon.

But just from having to render him, especially so faithfully. I still love the big lug, and I have the cool toys.
Might be fun to draw him in a new, crazy style, though. I actually believe there's untapped potential in this property, perhaps as a regular television cartoon series.
