Description Here's another fantastic commission by ~GalooGameLady of my Dwarven character Donvarr, living in a time called the Wartorn Era. He's serving as a combat engineer as part of mandatory military service in his clan. I'll have more info and what kinds of adventures he goes on later :3

Check out the unmasked version on her page!

For the curious here is some information on the technology in the picture! Notably it is very Teslapunk inspired (if Steampunk is Victorian and Dieselpunk is 1920s to 1940s, then Teslapunk is 1900 to 1920 or so).

Dwarven Ball Lightning Repeating Rifle: Powered by electricity, this rifle produces and accelerates a spherical electrical phenomenon called Ball Lightning . The ball travels slower than a bullet yet is not affected by gravity, though it is attracted to metals and, to a lesser degree, water. Upon hitting something the ball will violently explode, severely injuring anyone within a few feet and producing a sulfuric odor.

The rifle can store a small amount of electricity in its batteries, located inside the tubular magazine below the rifle barrel. The quality of the battery changes how much charge can be stored, but it is usually enough for 6 shots (one battery per tubular guard, so 3 batteries with charge for 2 shots each).

The electricity in the rifle can be replenished from any source of electricity, though soldiers usually carry a backpack with a battery. In this case Donvarr has such a backpack, and has connected the gun directly for charging.

Side note: The design of the rifle is my own. I made a 3D model of that exact gun just prior to the picture. Picture of it .

Tri-Compass: Note: the design of the compass is slightly different than what is shown in the picture; a future picture by me will be dedicated to the compass, which will hopefully be more clear than this description. Often installed in an arm guard, the spherical tri-compass is an underground explorer's best friend. It has three parts: an outer shell that always points to the center of the planet; a middle section that points north; and a central orb that always points at Wizard's Moon.

Underneath the planet, many lost and forgotten objects alter and disrupt gravity, making it impossible to tell which way is down. But with this compass you'll always be able to find your way up. The compass then helps you find north to guide you home. And if you're truly a master of the Tri-Compass, then the central orb will let you find exactly where you are on the globe.

Component Backpack: The Component Backpack is the standard issue backpack used by Dwarven soldiers. The backpack has nine "slots" that equipment can attach to, along with electrical connections between each slot. In Donvarr's case, a combat engineer, the lower three slots are occupied by a battery with a connection for charging held devices, such as a lightning ball rifle. Looking from behind Donvarr, the top right slot is a gas-fed generator, additional battery, and occasional light source. The other five slots are for bags and general equipment.

Helmet: The helmet has a light installed for blinding enemy combatants, and has a battery installed on the rear (some helmet variants connect to the backpack). Dwarves have very good natural night vision, due to a tissue in the eye similar to a tapetum lucidum, and usually do not need light to see. However sudden light can be blinding, so some Dwarves prefer to always keep lights on and nearby so their night vision cannot be compromised.
