I kinda disagree. The colors of the characters themselves would conflict more if the background was fighting for attention too. I feel like this is more akin to a hole-in-the-wall venue for this particular garage band. They don't need anything flashy, since this is their last jam session. And there are shadows in the back? If they were darker that too would also take away from the characters.

Lol I gotcha. Either way, I can see what you sorta mean. I do appreciate that the palette is less saturated than normal anthro-art, though, but it cold use a bit more of something to make it pop.
