I know you've explained this before, but just so we're clear....
The divorce itself was done rather calmly, but it was still a big deal emotionally for Cele. The fact that her parents were still friendly afterwards made her feel that they didn't take the divorce, the marriage, or the effect of the whole ordeal on her, very seriously. So Cele's main damage is that she feels her parents aren't taking her feelings/the divorce seriously, and is underappreciated.

Celeste's folks just fell out of love during her childhood, divorcing and having her go between them during weekends.
when she ends up in an alternate universe to find other situations where her folks end up with other people, it kinda hurts on her. She's frankly a very grumpy and somewhat unfriendly child because of her issues with her folks.

Oh wow so the divorce is still pretty recent in her life. I assumed it was when she was younger but wow, and then to see the alternate universes with her parents happily married to other people... no wonder.
