Description The ending's a bit embellished, but the story is true. This woman at ***mart would not stop hazing me about the Mario stuff I was buying. My GF was furious, but not as much as I was.

Not liking things because you're told you shouldn't isn't something a mature adult does. We decide what we like.

Geeze you're probably from the generation that grew up on Mario and she didn't expect you to like it? o0 Well SOMEONE had no childhood! As the greatest incarnation of the Doctor once said 'What's the point of being all grown up if you can't act childish sometimes?'

Mario has been around for 25+ years. Of course there are adults that like him too.

...so the lady that works in the retail arm pit of the world was hassling you about your purchase?

That she was! She also asked if my co-workers make fun of me for liking Mario. I told her they like Mario more than I do.

Next time you need to wear your sweat pants with holes in them, they'll think you're one of their kind.

every one's got a right to like what they like, that cashier is just dead inside and wants you to feel her pain, some people are downers like that, what can you do?

Some people tend to think that Mario is exclusively for children, but most people in their thirties saw the birth of Mario and got to like him since day 1. So why should I stop playing it? The tag says" Rated E for EVERYONE!" So people like that cashier lady should just fuck off.

Boy do I know the feeling. I'm barely past 20 but I've gotten so many weird looks from strangers regarding my game-related merchandise. No snide remarks yet, though my family is very fond of harping the "you're an adult now, grow up and stop playing with PokΓ©mon" lines.
However, a nurse at the blood donor clinic did give me a compliment on my NES-controller wallet once.

It's nothing wrong liking things like these. People seem to like judging others by what they like.

My response (if this were, say, Spider-man stuff) would've been along the lines of "yup, pretty into it. So into it, it inspired me to land a job doing what I love, and not get stuck behind a cash register in Walmart. How's that workin' for yeh, Mildred?"
