"Don't mind us we're just casually standing around naked."
In which Quazar has long moments of indiscision on whether to openly stare at this in the computer room or not.
I love their throooats
I only just noticed: Altamarans appear to have hair that comes out from inside their ears?

Hahahahahaha oh gosh, I knew I would cause someone a moment like that someday X'D
Thank you! I must admit, it is quite fun drawing the exoskeleton/cartilage on their necks. (by the way, because you'll probably like knowing the little details- the ridges on either side, while they're mainly caused by muscle/tendon, are also more pronounced because of the striation chambers.)
But yes, they do have hair growing out of their ears! XD
It's based on how some earth animals have tufts of fur growing out of the ears. Granted in those cases I think it's for heat retention, but for the altamara I always meant it as protection from rainforest parasites that might crawl into them, and generally just to protect the ear drum, which is actually closer to the surface than on humans. In the altamara, ears didn't evolve in quite the same way as earth animals.. they aren't mobile, and while they do definitely serve as sound catchers, they are largely to protect the ear drum from danger. You could imagine them like hoods to keep out rain, wind and insects. The drum itself is positioned up near the top of the ear.
