Yeah lotta light bugs, but I'm sure there would be a castle around there somewhere though. -True that's why I only have like three of my paintings framed and hanging up right now! Out of like... A ton!

I watched the YouTube process and it is a bit like watching a sun rise - the colours unfolding and a visage appearing. As a digital art Neanderthal myself I can can only express "me like ...me like much !"

Thank you, lol that's kind of you. -Did you like with, or without the dragon? I think it looks better with out, but I'm interested to hear whatever one else thinks.

It's funny you should ask because I liked the little fellow but then I thought maybe you got rid of it because it was a bit game of thrones like.I wish I knew more about the techniques.I will say though I like the way you use light.I heard a famous artist once say that art was all about" light" and I think this is very true.Even in sketching the representation of light and how it "falls" is something that even the untrained eye almost innately picks up on.I think you do this well in this piece .I always liked Michelangelo and Da Vinci - they really understood light .Rembrandt and Cezanne are also masters of light. This is only my opinion of course .I presume that this piece has an element of self portraiture about it and so explains why it is so good. Talented artists often do excellent self portraits and in a sense I guess this artwork reveals another "self ".I view your art all the time and I feel it is getting better ( even though I don't have the credentials ) as time moves on.I think this is a really excellent piece on a lot of levels. It has a sense of whimsy but I feel it has good colours( something you do extremely well),focus and intensity. When we take on another persona we often illuminate elements of ourselves we rarely show - (take this from a bloke who wears a mask!)Love your work!

Nah, while I love GOT I've been drawing dragons since I was a kid, and I've always called them "my darlings" or "my pets" so it's was natural I'd want to put one in my best representation of myself (it really couldn't be any more my personality, and 'inner self' than this). But I guess in a respect that does make me a bit like Khaleesi at any rate, lol. But yeah, I ended up making this the 'final' version because I felt like he wasn't detailed or realistically colored well enough to fit in with the rest of it, and I didn't feel like redoing him from stretch. -I'd agree about lighting though it really is all about the contrast of a work, that's something I credit my mom for teaching me far before I went to art college, she's a great fine artist. But given your insights I think your understanding of art is well beyond what you give yourself credit for. After all it isn't artist who decide what goes into the museums, it's the art lover audience. Anywho, you're a kind friend to have, and I value your input.
