CHOW (Character of the Week, on ConceptArt.org) #161 - The City. The challenge was to personify a city.I had trouble choosing, I settled on 3 - Havana, Cuba; Austin, Texas; and St. Petersburg, Russia. In the end, I have the deepest affinity for Austin, having lived there for a while (I want to move back SO BADLY), so I went with her. She is kind of the chick everyone wants to date or be in college, she's impossibly cool, she's the live music capital of the world, she loves nature and her Longhorns, she's a biking city (I mean, Lance trains there!) <3 Austin

I'm from the Red River area but I've been to Austin and loved it. I got a lot of family in the, or who have been in, the State Legislature, So I've got an attachment. I have no control over my congresional cousins so don't say anything!

Austin, Texas is my hometown. I lived there for 17 tears altogether. I cannot wait to move back. Got to visit her for the first time after six years a couple of weeks ago...She has changed so much. She has been a very busy girl! That and EVERY SINGLE PERSON LIVING was jogging! Dear lord I nearly hit like ten people! There really is no comparison to Austin. You just can't do it. You have everything you could ever want there! Everything. Mt. Bonnell, Zilker, Sixth St., Guadalupe, Burnet Rd, Shoal Creek, rivers, lakes, springs, pools, schools, tattoo shops, computers, commuters, biking trails, dog parks, high end restaurants/laid back restaurants, wining, dining sixty-ni--whoa there! I think I have made my point! lol They even have the hub of Freedom: The Scarlet Woman Lodge. I found this picture from you a couple years back, but I still love it to this day. You captured her very well. The Spirit of "Dazed and Confused" mixed with a modern free and liberated girl. Tres magnifique! "Austin, it's a whole other country...A city in a park." Indeed and well done!

I live in Dallas but I've visit Austin a lot. Lately though it seems that there's a big fight between the people who want to make it more normal and those who want to keep it weird.
