To my dear friends, fans, and watchers,

For those who may not know, redmanxthered had started one of the OG fictional boxing icons, Nikki Martin, back when Yahoo Groups were still in force. Hence, redmanxthered had been heavily involved in the fem fighting world long before I came along. Over the years, Nikki Martin has inspired others to become a part of this community and create a lore for themselves. She has been featured and rendered by several long-time standing artists of excellence: onek1995 , MerlinKing , CB1964 , and RSKowalski , just to name a few.

So, when I was approached last summer by redmanxthered , the creator of the legendary “Fighter Girl” to write a story for him, to say I was floored would be an understatement. He had discovered me soon after my first story - a boxing novella - had aired on DA and spoke enthusiastically of not only my writing, but of Jessi Bowen’s multi-faceted persona itself. I was stunned and humbled that a cornerstone of our female fighting niche had sought me out and wanted to invite me into his world - a huge honor and privilege for me.

However, due to real life and a host of other DA commitments at that time, I wasn’t able to start the story then. However, another big impediment loomed over my head regarding this project: I was invited, nay encouraged, to treat a literary fighting icon, Nikki Martin, - how shall I say it - a "little" less reverentially than one would expect a fan to behave under such circumstances. It took a long while for my heart and mind to get accustomed to comfortably envisioning a psychologically and emotionally rich plot line painted in many brutal strokes. During many discussions, the idea blossomed into a series of tales that would intertwine the lores of Nikki Martin, Daisy Pierce, and Jessi Bowen.

As time has evolved, Nikki's hold on the imagination hasn't only captured the attention of artists but also of writers inspired to create their own OCs. Nikki's adventures were the gateway to heatherwifi 's own rabbit hole into this complex and seductively violent world. Because of her love and respect for this character, she has been invited to partake several times in Nikki's world. (Links below.)

And because Heather Worth existed, such a force needed a nemesis. That brings us currently to the back-and-forth physical battles and mind games of Daisy and Heather. Like Sherlock and Moriarty, Daisy's protagonist struggles, learns, and triumphs because she has a rich canvas to play against when Wifi unfurls her combative banner. And just as Heather was lured into this world, so too, did Nikki have a profound bearing on the creation of Daisy Pierce. If Nikki Martin had not existed, it would be highly doubtful that the seed of Daisy would even bloom on DA. Daisy recalled that Heather had destroyed Nikki psychologically and physically in a brutal fight. After that bout, Daisy had vowed to herself that she would avenge her beloved icon's mistreatment. After much reflection, many questions to delve into the heart of Nikki, understanding her reach and legacy, and more reflection, the stars aligned. Though it proved a challenging endeavor of many emotional and psychological parts, by the end of it, I was pleased to bring forth another layer of Jessi, a layer that’s always been there, hiding just beyond the shadows. However, it’s not only Jessi that will be seen in a different lens, but Nikki as well. And eventually, another necessary force - Daisy Pierce - will be cast in a pivotal role to round out our tale. In this arc, tentatively plotted for five complete stories, you'll witness how three different women’s lives converge and transform each other.

Not enough words could contain how patient, knowledgeable, supportive, and such generosity of time redmanxthered gifted to me as we began our collaboration. My gratitude and appreciation for you is boundless, my friend!!!
