I have a dumb question. What is India ink? I have heard of it before, but I've never known what makes it special

i use it because it's the easiest to find calligraphy ink for the "quill" pens. but when it dries it's also waterproof so that i can do all the watercolor craziness on top. because it doesn't bleed at all, it has a very special place in my heart.

That's really cool. I wish I had lots of money to spend on testing out new art projects and tools etc

Really? Wow. I have some water colors, but I need some paper and inks that won't run

After about 350 Rocky Horror Picture show performances, I'm inclined to agree.

Nice watercolors!
I don't know what your source material for this was, but you did a good job of replicating it.
This appears to be a 19th Century show girl.
The corset and the feathers might indicate she was a French performer.
But again, you did some nice watercolor work here.
