Description
Full colour image of Downus displaying a number of her weapons and tools. She is a creepy-looking but benign robot originally built for accompanying armies as combat and survival support. Downus is one of the supporting characters in a little comic series I'm working on.The biggest trouble I have with this character is making her look noticably female. It really doesn't matter if she looks rather gender-ambiguous (since she's, 'yknow, artificial), but I always imagined her with a female voice so I'd rather she didn't look specifically male. It's a bit tricky considering her face is always obscured and her shoulders are wide by design, and it doesn't help that my grip on human anatomy is bloody awful either!

Making he hips a little larger and her waist a little smallerΒ could help with the entire gender thing.

If it helps when I first caught a glance at the pic I thought it was a female straight off, so that has to say something about the design.
Plus....I want that weaponary, all of it.

It took me a while to figure out what was going on with her arms as well, but now I get it and it's cool. Crit wise, I feel like the cuffs on her shorts should be more curved... but otherwise, this rocks. I love the colouring on the metal and the shoes kick ass, really interesting shape on the soles. The pose is nice as well, and she's just a generally interesting character

Very true in this case. With her expression I half expect a pack of bad guys just realised what she is and that they should've gone for the one with the large meat cliver.
There are few pictures that I love on site but this is one of them. It makes me want to laugh at her expression and marvel at the amount of detail on her weapons. The fact she can carry them safely hidden away is amazing and unbelieveable in most cases but your design for her makes it completely possible in my eyes.
When I saw this I did think she was female. My first thought was tomboy girl which I suppose she is considering she was designed to go into battel.
In short: I really love this!

It is a bit hard to make out, but her arms are folded up over her head... check out the model sheets I updated before and you might be able to see it clearer!
