Description
This illustration is of an arctic, underwater, cross section. These girls practice their synchronized swimming at twilight in the ocean.The narwhal is an honorary member of the Inuit synchronized swim team!
Created using acrylic paint, cut paper, and pencil crayon.

Thanks! I like to play with areas of flatness mixed with areas of rendered depth. Pencil crayon really helps make that happen for me.

It's a lovely picture... but all I can think is that those human children are mal adapted to arctic water.
The creatures around them will live.
They have adaptations that support life in frigid water.
The human children, adorable though they ma be, do not.
