All depends on what light is hitting them. Tree swallows can reflect greens, blues, even purples in their dark feathers. Just like ravens. Technically a black bird, when the light hits them the right way all kinds of different shades can be seen.

I had VERY high winds at my back and as he came in he pretttyyy much for a brief moment floated right in front of me. Pretty lucky shot especially while in manual mode my thumb bumped my back wheel and dumped my shutter speed down lol. I had it set at 1/2500 when I started, went through a ton of blurry images wondering (wtf) buttttt had 3 sharp ones, this one being the best of the lot even with the 1/1250 shutter speed. YUP double fluke, but hey sometimes luck shines through!
