As I was browsing through video game trivia on VGfacts.com one fine day (because I'm a freak that way), I came across interesting trivia where the game, Hyrule Warriors, had concept art for a female counterpart to Link. Translated, her name would be Linkle. Apparently the idea was rejected.

I've always been intrigued by the idea of a female Link, and this is most likely the closest we'll get to her. Nonetheless, I decided to take the effort to make her into a crude 3D model. Her clothing and look in the concept art seems to be inspired by Twilight Princess, which perhaps isn't all that surprising. But I decided to try my hand at what she might've looked like for Ocarina of Time. If nothing else it's more simpler. She's also portrayed as being right-handed in the concept art, but eh, I made her a lefty anyway.
I will say though, it was quite difficult working from the concept art.

On a personal note, thought it's highly doubtful, I hope this is a chance, albet very small, that you could have the option to play as a female Link counterpart in the Zelda series, not unlike how you can play as a male or a female Trainer in the Pokemon series.
