Description Comments, all. I need whatever you can throw at me on this one, I think I can start getting somewhere with the fractals soon.

PSCS2 + Apo. 1h50 min renders in apo (A good few at once though ), and more time in PS, though I don't really bother checking that

1680x1050

(Original 3200x2012)

And I'm going to keep some of the fractals used in this for some later pieces, too

EDIT: Added some planets. Can't seem to get anything else to look right at the moment... And I think I sorted some of the graininess, too.

cool.. maybe add a big planet on the left foreground?

Dno, I'm not very good with closeups of planets. I might give it a go though, it is something that I've been meaning to do well

You already are getting somewhere! i see youre getting some nice flames try throwing some lens flares in there... on color dodge i think, then put your dark fractals over those

Jesus-Tks In reply to synax444 [2008-10-11 11:14:52 +0000 UTC]

Cheers I'll give it a go with the lens flares

Ah, that reminds me to comment on your newer stuff xD (I let too many deviations pile up and did a mass-delete :S)

Ridiculously gorgeous. I absolutely adore the plum with gold.
Love how the light percolates.
Definitely want to see you explore this further.

Thankyou I'm going to definitely do some more work on this - just as soon as I get some more free time

Heh, nice work
I wonder if I was the first one to blend more than 2 fractals in one composition - I still haven't seen someone do the same.

I think that synax444 uses lots and lots, although I have no idea - he's really the king of fractal nebulae as far as I know

And cheers

great nebula, the fractals are awesome.

Might be less realistic but I'd suggest to add some vibrant colors to this since it's mainly orange/purple color scheme and it lacks an interesting eyecatcher in my opinion.

I have this feeling with most of your works btw, but well, never really found a good moment to tell you

Thanks! And there's always a good time - in fact, keep reminding me. Variance is one of my biggest issues, and it'd be good to get someone nagging me over it

seancruz [2008-10-07 16:59:25 +0000 UTC]

I really like this but it feels incomplete. I would add a few stars, and maybe some smaller fractals in a different color to give the nebula a variety. giving it that variety will make it appear like the nebula is composed of many different elements and gases.

Jesus-Tks In reply to seancruz [2008-10-07 17:38:42 +0000 UTC]

Cheers

I'm gonna rework this with planets and stars definitely, and hopefully I can add some variety to the nebula - its not my strong point really

FreezerSting [2008-10-07 14:50:11 +0000 UTC]

its getting a little too abstract for me jesus, i liked it better when there were planets and stuff =S
great fractal work otherwise

Jesus-Tks In reply to FreezerSting [2008-10-07 16:11:05 +0000 UTC]

I did add some planets, but they ended up looking weird (Need to practise blending with them etc). A V2 is probably on the way though

Haha, must be hard give it a go though, I don't think anyone has done something like that before (nebulae with paints) - at least, not very often

add a few tiny stars or planets into the drawing.. keep them small so the background tells the story.. keep the feeling that the background is massive..

i realy like this sofar m8.. make it special.. otherwise its tjust one in a dozen!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jesus-Tks In reply to RKGfXnl [2008-10-07 16:14:47 +0000 UTC]

Cheers! I'm gonna have to add something to it now

Looking at some NASA images, I've basically been trying to create realistic looking stars/planets in combination with nebulae. Gonna have to try and add them now

I really like the center part, but I think the darker parts should be more smooth. But that's just me

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jesus-Tks In reply to R3V4N [2008-10-07 13:47:59 +0000 UTC]

I get what you mean

Unfortunately, apophysis renders any areas with little in them as grainy, which doesn't show itself until the end and I stick a quick sharpen on it

I'll try and make some changes though
