Description Another watercolour knotwork. A bit in the same style as the previous one.
I enjoy making these a lot. And I'm getting to know masking fluid a little better.
I first drew the knotwork with a brownish pencil. I used really thin lines so that you wouldn't see them later on. Then I covered the whole sheet with a little bit of water just to make it damp. After that I applied several layers of watercolor paint. From yellow to brown and everything in between. Then I masked the knot. After the masking fluid was dry I painted more layers ont the background. Between most of the layers I used salt.

Very cool technique! Makes watercolours more comprehensible! the effect is great! must be quite peacefull to do...

Yes, it is very peacefull and relaxing to do. ThatΒ΄s probably why I do it. I wish I could make better watercolours without using masking fluid though.

Your salting has come out really well! I always manage to muddy the patterns or get in and re-dampen the paper too soon. I think I already see progress between this knot and the last one!
