I'm not sure how well this would work, but I've been watching lots of prehistoric life documentaries and was partly influenced by ground sloths that walked on the sides of their feet.

wow, this is very impressive! (well everything that you do is impressive, but i had to say it again for this one)
that is one huge, creepy pet!
i like how you drew the pet's flesh in a (sick) pale-skin colour, it almost looks like the colour of a human skin, only alot more pale.
also the face/snout of the monsters head looks quite impressive and stretched out, almost like someone stretched it far-out from the center of the head and pulled it outwards....
what strikes me tho as weird in this drawing is:
1. the talons of its feet/claws that stick out in the sand.
i assume that this means that it has feet/claws similar to a velociraptor, am i right?
2. the strange black ''thing'' that the monster has on its back. i will assume that this thing is ''clothes''.
does the pet have ripped clothes on its back and on its ankles?
but then, this would result in the conclusion that the monster was once a human, a human that got transformed by a witch(pictured above as the master of the pet), and now serves her as a loyal monster-odd-creature thing.
anyway, this is a very well-done drawing with epic monsteresque anatomy, cool skin texture, incredible details in the anatomy/style of both the monster and of the woman, and ofcourse the background is really nice, dark and ominous but also kinda nice to look at.
overall, a great piece of art.
