Good god damn, you're killing it with this series. I'm not even going to go into it, but you've done an excellent job of capturing the feel of the Alexandrian soldier. That helmet alone.
People always forget about the blood, it must have been such a disgusting mess. They must have been covered in it by the end of a skirmish. and across the entire campaign? those veterans that followed Alexander all the way to the end, they must have waded through a sea of the stuff throughout their lives. I wonder if they ever became used to it.
