This little guy is awesome. He is what I imagine one of my favourite Canadian singers, Stan Rogers, looked like as a toddler. Bravo!

Nice one! Is the light coming from the right in the actual painting or is it partly the way the painting was lit when it was photographed?

Ah yes, I see. I guess I'm just curious how you photograph your paintings (especially how you light them). I photograph paintings too, but usually they're not this layered so I can light it at a quite steep angle to avoid reflections).

I use natural light but not direct light. So I will put it outside and use a tripod. Direct sun will definitely cause reflections.

nice clean colors, especially for the flesh tone on a baby, that is usually not done well by most painters, but you did great ... and love that it is still has its painterly quality.

Hey.. awesome job - children are quite hard to get 'just right' if you know what I mean. Just a small tip - a second highlight in the eye will make it look more alive rather than a bit like a porcelain doll. But overall - Great job!

I think this one has the best value balance, draftsmanship and brushwork, which is funny because babies are usually quite hard to do compared to adults.
