"I was born as a greatful warrior. I lived in a swamp with many others of my specie, the Saurians. I was the strongest one. I was also the most stupid: fell in love for our princess, Khameleon . And she loved me back. No royal person could ever accept our feelings, so I was sent in order to investigate an outworld emperor, Shao Kahn, whose army was threating our tribe.I was caught by Kahn's army and locked in a dungeon as a monster. The emperor, however, came to know me better, so he could understand my power. Kahn released me from the cage and offered me the chance to become one of his generals. That could be my chance to become a noble and be with Khameleon.
I never came back. Right before getting killed by Raiden , Kahn told me about a terrible tragedy: all my race, all the Saurians, were killed by a natural disaster. He made a incredible proposition: if I could serve him, he would do anything to revive the Saurians.
After his death, I lost my hope to see my family and Khameleon again. Then, Kahn's sorcerer, Quan Chi , told me about the fallen god Mortal Shinnok , who was trying to rise again. Shinnok had enough force to revive all my beloved ones, but I had to be by his side and help him to regain power.
I accepted the offer. I was titled Shinnok's general, commanding an army to invade Edenia and take control of the realm. I'm ready to do anything to bring Khameleon back. Anything!"

Here's how I would envision Reptile's ending
While attacking Edenia, I was taken by surprise when I heard my name and disappeared into the forest of trees to find the source. I was attacked by a female Saurian of my race and she held a poisoned arrow to my neck. She removed her mask and I was taken by surprise. It was Khameleon. My Khameleon. My shock turned to joy as she let me go and I embraced her. My joy was short lived as she told me, she had something important to tell me.
I begin listening to every word as she explained what really happened to our race and the traitor behind it all. I grew furious when I learned more of Chameleon's deception. He sold himself to Quan Chi and Shinnok willingly just to gain more power and allow him to destroy our race. Chameleon's intentions were clear: frame me for the murder of the Saurian race and force Khameleon to marry him. Enraged by the truth, she and I explained ourselves to the Forces of light and aligned ourselves with them. While they fought Quan Chi and Shinnok, we took the opportunity to leave. Khameleon and I hid in another room and waited for Chameleon to confront him for his betrayal.
We didn't have to wait long when he appeared. Chameleon was very confident in speaking with a woman of possible Edenian roots, possessed by Quan Chi. He explained to her that no one will know his intended genocide of our race and he will resurrect them if Khameleon gives up her love for me and marry him. When she asked him if he had a backup plan just in case of it's failure, Chameleon mentions he came across an old spell to resurrect an old dragon god named Onaga and use his own body as a vessel for the god's soul to possess in order to pose as him. We heard enough of his deception. After the woman left, Khameleon and I came out of hiding by calling out Chameleon's name. Upon seeing us, he got nervous right away and we accused him for his involvement in the destruction of our race. Chameleon tried to lie his way out of trouble by claiming that Quan Chi threatened him with the destruction of the Saurian race if he didn't accept the sorcerer and Shinnok's help. Khameleon and I didn't believe him, knowing he was lying again. After forcing a confession out of Chameleon, I was more determined to ensure that his plans doesn't go through. In the end, we avenged out race by destroying Chameleon for his betrayal. This also allows Khameleon and I to consummate our love together.

I'm not a Reptile fan, but I love this redesign! You've improved his reptilian looks a lot.
His backstory is great too.

Reptile is always the most fun to make concepts for, there is a whole realm of possibility using his "reptilian" theme.

It looks amazing. He just reminds me of a swamp creature type character but that makes your design stands out and man you did a better job at combining his classic look with his lizard form than NRS!
