I was pissed about the ending, Esp. when I brought Kaidan with me and it looked like everyone died and then he gets off the normandy and i'm like "when did you get picked up?"
This is something i expected, i hope the new DL expanded ending will deal with some things they seemed to ignore.

Perfection. I couldn't tolerate the serene, content look on his face when he irrationally stepped out of the Normandy that he had no way of even being aboard on the stupid random jungle planet after I had just died a horrific death. *This* is as it should have been.

So much of the whole ending is such an unbelievable mess. He told Shepard he would fight his hardest to be able to hold her again and yet he's seen on the Normandy, without a single scratch, smiling happily at the horizon? Rubbish. All those 'ending' scenes are. Lazily done, as if they ran out of time and money and just threw something together...even if it goes against everything we know and love. THAT is not Kaidan and the Shepard on the Citadel ain't my Shepard either

Solidarity. The ending was such a betrayal, such a catastrophic heartbreak. I made myself play through again just so that I could be with my favorite characters, but I couldn't make myself go farther than the FOB. And there were so many points at which I yelled at the game when I went through again. When she says to him "You're right. Give us hope, and a fighting chance..." I lost it. Because there was no chance of that. Nothing to hope for. And no matter what I did or how hard I fought there was only one possible outcome. I would lose everything, as a character and as a player. I keep meaning to write something about that. In any case, he would never have left her again. If they're to be true to the character, to all of the characters, they have to admit that. Joker certainly would not have been fleeing. And even if they all thought she was dead, Kaidan would not have gone for that a second time. She had died once, he had left her, and then he hadn't been there when she needed him. No way. Not even death would have stopped him this time. He wouldn't have believed it, or accepted it, until he had her in his arms and no that everything that could be done had been done. But here I go again. This is a very sore point for me.

Agreed. It's rather sad actually, I finished ME3 once....and never touched it again. This is Mass Effect! The games I keep on playing, keep on creating fanart for and harrass my bf with....but now? I just don't know anymore. Don't think I'll ever touch the games again, the trilogy feels so hollow now....there's no point in playing if it will always end the way it does.
Whooo victory at the Citadel in ME1? Hey Shepard, laugh it up, you will die a few months later, get resurrected by Cerberus, 2 years pass, you'll loose everything, go on a suicide mission and can possibly die AGAIN, but if you survive? Yeah laugh it up again because no matter what you do or how hard you fight...you'll end up dead. Unless your sidekick(the player)did some multiplayer missions and then you'll take a gasp of air while your crew flew off to a tropical planet and left you behind...
So....let Saren win...give the Citadel to Sovereign, and watch what happens, no way to avoid it

I keep holding tight to a particular quote: If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do. Try to make it about the journey, about the characters, about the moments that mattered to you along the way. Does it suck? Oh yes. Indescribably. But Mass Effect remains one of the most remarkable fiction experiences you can have. My own wounds have not scarred over yet. But I hope when they do I'll be able to play again, and get at least some fraction of the enjoyment I used to get out of it. You're right. It's *Mass Effect!* The games we all played over and over again (at least the first two), wrote stories and produced art about, immersed ourselves in. It has meant so much to me that I hope I can find some value in it again someday, even if I all I do is play up to the F.O.B, then stop.
