Vincent-O-the-Lantern... is what I WANTED to call it, but my brother ~amascusmage insisted the archaic version would be too obscure on top of the play-on-words.
For those of you who are NOT familiar with the original mythology surrounding our holiday pumkin carving hobbies... allow me to explain!
Originally it was "Jack-O'-the-Lantern" ... or "Jack the Lantern", even "Jacky Lantern" ... which according to the folklore, was another name for a "Will Of the Wisp" or "Will-O'-Wisp" an eerie glowing spirit which misguided humans into pitfalls or dangerous bogs. They led folk astray for the fun of it!
The carving of pumkins, according to SOME legends, was to distract the spirits and keep them at bay. A pumkin with a scary face for Jack-O'- Lantern.
Anyways, my mini-mythology lesson aside, ... I realized a couple days ago that I didn't have anything for Halloween! (or "All Hallows Eve" for you folklore fans) even though it's one of my favorite holidays! ... well I figured THAT just wouldn't do, and since I've already dressed up Sephiroth several times, and I haven't done NEARLY enough fanart for poor Vincent... I gave our red-cloaked angst-master a chance at pumkin carving!

I like how this looks. I hope you are going to color it in. You know when I was a kid they told me that there was a man who was not good enough for heaven and when he went to hell he beat up the devil so Satin put him into the Jack-O-Lantern and that it was his job to posess all of them and keep spirits at bay. Of course you can understand why they would say that in Sunday School. Because they want you to be good and go to heaven.

a story I heard was that the man tricked the Devil and trapped him, only agreeing to let him go when he agreed to relinquish rights to "Jack's" soul.
When Jack died, he was not good enough for Heaven, and Hell wouldn't let him in, but the devil granted him a boon of one of the embers of hell, so he wanders the earth unable to rest, using the glowing ember to taunt men astray.
but yeah, the story changes depending on locality and the teller.

I didn't think he was always about to go feral. At least in DoC, anyways. They made it pretty clear there that he is pretty human most of the time with the contrast to how he is when he losses (or was that looses) the protomateria.
