I am not a huge fan of this pairing to be honest but I did feel a little sorry for Naraku when I found out his real wish for Kikyo's heart was never granted.Both Naraku and Kikyo belong to Rumiko Takahashi

That little twist at the end, I know right? Such darkly romantic whims become the source of world destruction, thanks Naraku. Now I just can't hate him as a purely evil antagonist, why Takahashi sensei, why? I will be uploading more stuff on my new account incase you are interested

Btw, I'm wondering where will Naraku go in the afterlife, since he said that he will not be with Kikyo in the afterlife...

Good question. It could well be just 'Onigumo' talking, since throughout the series, we readers are informed of how his 'heart' leads to Naraku ending up into certain situations as a result for the lingering attachment to Kikyo time and time again, with the demon cursing his human origins.Β
Then again, Naraku technically originated from the perverted bandit and a bunch of self serving demons merging together (some sick form of copulation looking at it another way). And it is shown that no matter how much Naraku tries, he just couldn't get rid of his 'human heart', his roots essentially. So Onigumo is really an eternal and essential part of Naraku. It is easy to think of the former as a separate entity stubbornly residing in the latter as a key weakness/character flaw, and to some extent, he is as we are shown his temporary rebirth as 'Musuo'. However I believe that Onigumo (plus demons) is pretty much Naraku basically, if that makes sense. So I think that it's safe to assume that it's Naraku confessing there, because his heart (provided by Onigumo) ultimately yearns for the miko who once took care of him.Β
