Description
I am in the process of finishing this off. It is for a friend and well I am dragging my heels as I am not very fond of wildlife drawings.I do like the character and beauty of this piece though. Should look great when it is done.

I have been an Art Director for close onto 10 years now. Clients have pretty high demands. Your drawings aren't bad at all. It seems you just need to pick up the pencils and start drawing again.
One thing that helped me hugely was to copy other art to get a feeling for lighting and shading techniques. Just keep practicing and you'll be good too. It really isn't anything special to draw like a photo-copier. When you can draw like you do the best thing is probably to create your own style and bring some freshness to the world.

wow,thanks! really appreciate your comment. I'm actually a teacher and busy finishing up my psychology degree,so i'm so busy nowadays,just dont get time to draw anymore...its sad,really...
another major thing is that in p.e there arent many art classes i can join,and those available are painting classes. i would like to focus more on charcoals and pencils,but dont really seem to have any luck. but i shall keep trying!

Hey elmo - thanks for the reply. I think your sketches are great as they are. I am sure you can pick up the hobby again when you have your degree.
As for the art classes I have been tempted to join an art class but have either always been too poor or living in a place that simply doesn't have them at all. I like doing sorts of art. I have done from wood and stone carving to painting sketching and even tattoos. I love playing with different materials. I get bored to easily I think. Jack of all trades and master of none. lol
Funny you say you are studying too - I found doodles and little corner sketches a great way to concentrate during swotting and meetings etc. Also a great way to refine technique.

I know what you mean by dragging your heels when its not something that especially inspires you. It's looking great so far and you have to make it your own by enjoying the skills you have and making people happy, make it good man.

Whoa! Wildlife animals are rather difficult to draw. You seem to be doing a great job; the skin and the wrinkles look great so far!
